A Day of Firsts
I am a responsible parent. I am a responsible, experienced parent, as Reagan is our fourth child. I know that firsts can come at any moment, and that there are no charts to go by. That being said, the following DID NOT happen at my house today, the home of two responsible parents. I DID NOT leave Reagan lying in Duane's big chair while I went to wash Matthew's hair so he could get out of the tub. She DID NOT then roll over for the first time, landing on her stomach on the floor. I repeat, I am a responsible parent, and I would never leave my infant lying on an elevated surface where she could potentially roll off and then spend half an hour screaming at me. Between Duane and Reagan, today has been an exciting day.
Duane's first turkey hunt
Duane went turkey hunting today for the first time in his life, with his good friends Jason and Jeff. With their assistance in calling, Duane bagged his first turkey.
A close-up of the turkey. Jason and Duane estimated it at approximately 14-15 lbs. It was a jake.
A picture of the beard, which turned out to be a double beard. Kind of hard to see, but if you look closely, the small second beard is just to the right of the bigger beard.

Anna now has two holes in her head. She lost her first tooth last week. She was very excited that she pulled it out all by herself at school. It was very loose, and didn't hurt at all. The second tooth she lost this week. She pulled it out unintentionally, when she "just twisted it all the way around in a circle." This one led to tears, as it wasn't nearly as loose, and it did bleed a little. (By the way, the tears were Anna's, not mine, for all of you who know about my loose teeth phobia!) The tooth fairy granted Anna's request to keep her teeth for a collection, on the condition that she promise not to take work from the fairy by trying to collect anyone else's teeth.
