Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up at Story Hour at the library.
Cora sat on Santa's lap long enough to get her picture taken, grab her candy cane, and run. As with all strangers, she didn't have anything to say to him.
Anna, however, was her usual gregarious self.
Matthew whispered his wish, even though he's been announcing it, praying about it, and listing it as the one thing he's thankful for on his Thanksgiving turkey. . .he wants a blue four wheeler like little Remy's.

Halloween
Just a few pics of the kids in their Halloween costumes. We went with Renaissance princess and knight for Anna and Matthew, so that they could use their costumes next year at the Festival. Cora was supposed to be a Renaissance princess too, but when her costume arrived, mommy was unhappy with it, so sent it back. She got to be a unicorn instead. Maybe we'll make a princess costume before the Festival for her!

Renaissance Festival
Way back when, we went to the Renaissance Festival in Kansas City, but I never got the pictures posted. So, without further ado. . .
After watching the jousting show twice, Matthew had to meet the blue knight. He walked right up to him, and said "You're a pretty good fighter."
Cora is hidden in between Anna and I, however, we did all three ride the elephant.
Duane and Matthew riding the elephant.
Cora danced with the gypsies at the Renaissance Festival.
We had a great time, and look forward to going again next year, when the kids may actually dress up in Renaissance garb.

Duane "fixes" mower
Duane put new fuel and air filters on the mower this week, and then, following the advice of the guy at O'Reilly's just filled the oil 'til it was full. . .maybe not such a good idea. After draining a portion of the oil out, the mower stopped billowing clouds of smoke.
He did do some more work on the front yard as well, which I think is coming along nicely.

"Yup, that's right."
It was a beautiful day here today. At about 4:30 pm, it was still around 68 degrees. I came in the front door and Matthew and Anna were washing the windows on the french doors (Honestly.) I said, "Guys, you have about two hours of daylight left. Why don't you spend it outside?" Anna said "O.K.," and headed for the door. "And keep an eye on your little sister..." I shouted as they both went running out the front door. ""All right. Oh, she's got my favorite shovel...oh, and Matthew peed on the porch."
Before I could even comprehend that she said "Matthew peed on the porch," Matthew belted out, "Yup, that's right!" and just kept on running.
Man, I love that kid.
